Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
The short version
- Marimoshi has no accounts and no sign-up.
- It collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere.
- There are no trackers and no analytics.
- Your marimoshi, your wish and everything else live on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. Marimoshi has no user accounts, asks for no email address and sends no information about you to us or to anyone else. There is no tracking and no analytics software in the app.
What is stored on your device
So that your marimoshi is still there when you come back, the app keeps a save file in its own folder on your iPhone. It holds the name you gave it, its four care levels, its birth date and day count, your care history for the last fourteen days, your wish, and your settings such as language and notifications.
This file belongs to the app. It is not readable by other apps and it is never uploaded by us.
Your wish
The text of a wish stays on your device. It is not sent to a server, it is not included in analytics, and it is not shown to anyone. The app itself never reads it either: your marimoshi will tell you it is holding your wish, but it never quotes it, interprets it or reacts to what it says. When you share an image, the wish is left out of it.
Notifications
If you allow them, Marimoshi schedules local notifications on your device — at most two a day: your morning card and, if something needs attention, one care reminder. They are created on the device itself; no push server is involved and no notification content leaves your iPhone. You can turn them off inside the app, or in iOS Settings at any time.
Sprouts and invitations
When you gift a sprout, the app creates a link on your device that carries the name of your marimoshi so the person receiving it can see who it came from. Nothing else is in it, and it is created and signed on your device — no server is involved. You choose how to send that link, and once it leaves the app the privacy policy of whichever messaging app you used applies to it.
Sharing images
Share images are rendered on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where they go from there is entirely your choice, and we never see them.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, Apple may include the app’s save file in that backup, in the same way it does for other apps. That backup is handled by Apple under your own iCloud settings and Apple’s privacy policy — we have no access to it.
Apple
Downloading Marimoshi from the App Store is a transaction between you and Apple, and it is covered by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one. If you have chosen to share crash and usage data with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may pass us aggregated reports. Those reports come from Apple, are not linked to you, and are used only to fix crashes.
Children
Marimoshi is not directed at children and is not listed in the Kids Category. Since the app collects no personal information at all, none is collected from children either.
Deleting your data
Open Settings inside the app and reset your progress, or delete the app from your iPhone. Either one removes the save file and everything in it, including your wish. Because nothing was ever stored anywhere else, there is nothing left for us to delete and no way to recover it afterwards.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date above. Meaningful changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
